French broadband provider Iliad grew revenues from its broadband operations by 30.1% in 2008. Consolidating its position as the leading alternative provider in France, the company known to French consumers as Free closed 2008 with 4,225,000 subscribers.
The Group has reported consolidated revenues of €1,565 million, a 29% increase on 2007. When the contribution of recent acquisition Alice France is excluded revenues grew by 18.9%.
Free grew ARPU to €36.9 in the fourth quarter on the back of new content that includes Canal+ a la demande and its own VOD offering.
The company has a target of five million subscribers by 2011. It is also investing heavily in its own fibre-optic network with the intention of covering four million households by 2012.
