Around one third of staff jobs at Bloomberg Television’s European headquarters are under threat after the company confirmed it had begun consultations with its London-based staff.
The process follows last week’s announcement in New York that Bloomberg will scale back its television news operations, shutting all non-English language channels, including those in France, Germany, Italy, Spain and Japan. The existing English language operations in the Americas, Europe and Asia will be integrated into a single global channel.
Around 225 employees work in Bloomberg’s television and radio operations in the UK.
