TVP began this year very much like it ended 2008, as the most popular broadcaster in Poland.
According to data produced by TNS OBOP for Wirtualne Media, its first channel TVP1 was the most watched in January among viewers aged 4+ with an audience share of 24.09%.
It was followed by TVP2 on 16.52% and Polsat and TVN on 14.20% and 13.40% respectively. The most popular thematic channel was news-based TVN24 with a 3.02% audience share, followed by AXN (0.96%), Disney Channel (0.89%) and Mini Mini (0.77%).
In the 18-49 age group, TVP1 was still the most popular channel overall (20.23%), followed by Polsat (16.83%), TVP2 (15.40%) and TVN (14.94%), with TVN24 again the most watched thematic service (1.46%), followed by AXN (1.36%), Viva Polska (0.99%) and Discovery (0.93%).
