Tandberg Television CEO Eric Cooney is stepping down to take up a new position with internet technology firm Internap.
The 42-year old joined the digital video business of NDS in April 1997, becoming VP Americas and COO when the company was acquired by Tandberg in October 1999, and taking the CEO post in June 2003.
Cooney’s period at the top of Tandberg saw the company increase its market value from approximately $100 million to more than $4 billion. Such growth attracted the attention of Arris and later Ericsson, which successfully acquired the company in early 2007.
