Five has extended its online on demand TV service, Demand Five, to Mac and Linux users. The new version follows the trend of using Flash media player technology, rather than the Windows Media Player Five and other broadcasters have used previously.
“Adopting Flash makes Demand Five accessible to more computers, more operating systems and consequently more users. It’s the first of many upgrades we expect to make to the service over the next 12 months,” explained Five’s head of digital media Jonathan Lewis.
Demand Five launched in July 2008 and provides a 30-day catch-up service and an on demand archive. A version of Demand Five was added to BT Vision last October.
