Hungary’s Antenna Hungária has launched a mobile TV service.
According to the TDF-backed transmission company, it is employing three transmitters to distribute the FTA public channels Duna TV and Duna II Autónomia in Budapest and can be received by anyone with a suitable Nokia (N96) smart phone.
Antenna Hungária has been trialling DVB-H since 2006 and the launch comes less than a fortnight after the company launched Hungary’s long-awaited DTT platform.
The DVB-H service will eventually be able to offer up to 20 channels, some of which could be encrypted.
