ONO says it held an audience share of 6.5% in November, maintaining its lead in Spanish pay-TV. The figures were boosted by ONO’s cablenets in the autonomous states of Cantabria that achieved a share of 22.18%, La Rioja (21.56%) and Comunitat Valenciana (17.30%).
The most watched thematic channel in November was movie channel CineStar Teuve with a cumulative audience of nearly 2.5 million people.
The figures, released by ONO and published by audience researchers TNS Sofres, come at a time when ONO’s principal rival, the DTH platform Digital+, is close to a sale. A decision by current owners Pris could come as soon as this week with a Telefonica-Vivendi consortium the most likely winner.
