Romania looks to the future

ACC Broadband Convention – Bucharest. Romania is unlikely to experience a recession in its telecom market, according to Dorin Liviu Nistoran, the president of the National Authority for Communications (ANC).

He added that the DTH market, which is served by five DTH platforms, had started to gain at the expense of the cable industry, which currently serves of just over 3.5 million homes, in 2007.

Nistoran also said that there is a digital gap developing between urban and rural parts of the country.

Furthermore, he was optimistic about the prospects for future growth in the broadband sector.
