Orange has said it is going back to the drawing board over plans to launch a UK version of its IPTV service. Tom Alexander, chief executive, Orange UK said the company was reviewing its plans.
Alexander said that although its UK trials had been successful, and was ready to be rolled out, the company was not happy with the service as the proposition was too similar to BT Vision.
Across Europe Orange has 1.746 million IPTV subscribers including 1.603m in France. It is also available in Poland and Spain.
Earlier this week it was confirmed that BSkyB was in exclusive talks with the UK’s other IPTV operator Tiscali over the sale of its UK interests.
