The French entertainment and electrical retailler FNAC has launched the hybrid FNAC Box, which brings together a terrestrial DVB-T HD receiver, a 160 GB PVR and connected internet access.
The box is part of the TV Pack FNAC, which will offer viewers access to both the digital terrestrial services and IPTV delivered content from the FNAC online VOD service. It is produced by Netgem and its subsidiary Glowria is providing the FNAC VOD service. All boxes are equipped with an Ethernet port and include Wi-Fi for wireless connection.
TV Pack FNAC will cost €149. Reception of the terrestrial channels is free, but a pay-TV package consisting of Eurosport, Planete, Paris Premiere, TF6 and LCI is available at €5.90 per month.
The FNAC Box is the latest addition to the French market of hybrid set tops, which include the recently introduced Cube from CanalSat, Orange TV LiveBox and the neufbox TV to the French market.
