Thematic channels continue to gain ground at the expense of most leading broadcasters in Poland.
According to data produced by TNS OBOP, only one of the latter – TVN – claimed a higher viewing share among viewers aged 16-49 in October than 12 months earlier.
TVN was in fact in first place with 19.39% (17.76% in October 2007), and TVP1 in second with 17.98% (19.59%), followed by Polsat (16.55% v 19.16%) and TVP2 (15.60% v 17.19%).
Although TVN24, the most successful thematic channel in Poland, also posted reduced figures (3.32% v 4.03%), others fared much better.
Disney Channel, for instance, was up from 0.67% to 0.85%, while AXN almost doubled from 0.43% to 0.81%.
While TVP1 remains the most popular channel amongst viewers aged 4+, similar trends are observed in this demographic.
