Antenna Hungária has set a launch date for Hungary’s new DTT platform.
According to the transmission company, the FTA service, which will be known as MinDig TV, will make its debut on December 1 and should by Xmas be available to 6 million people, or around 60% of the population, including all those living in large cities.
TDF-backed Antenna Hungária was awarded 12-year licences in July to operate what will eventually be one T-DAB and five DVB-T multiplexes.
Doubts as to the participation of RTL Klub and TV2, the country’s two leading broadcasters, in the project had recently emerged and it remains unclear as to whether they have been resolved.
