The French online video site Dailymotion has announced the introduction of a new video player named Dailymotion HQ that will improve the quality of its video clips dramatically. The company said a higher connection speed is required to fully enjoy the better quality.
Dailymotion HQ is based on the H.264 codec and uses the AAC audio format 96 kbps. The new standard offers a superior video quality (512 x 384 pixels) and speeds up to 30 frames per second for a broadband connection with Flash Player 9. A computer with a dual processor is also needed.
