Web TV portal Zattoo is rolling out its HiQ package of broadcast quality TV channels in Spain. It’s the second country after Switzerland that will be able to enjoy the online package offered at a resolution of 576 x 528 pixels, comparable with a standard definition broadcast signal.
Eight channels will be available as part of HiQ in Spain: La Primera, La 2, Antena 3, Cuatro, La Sexta, Telecinco, VEO and Interconomía TV. All of Spain’s principal public and commercial broadcasters are included in the line-up. Subscribers pay €1.75 per month for HiQ with a 12-month commitment. Zattoo Basic, featuring 27 channels, is available for €1 per month.
Zattoo says it has 1,200,000 registered users in Spain, representing almost half of its European total of 3,500,000 registered users. The service is also available in Switzerland, Germany, France, United Kingdom, Belgium, Denmark and Norway.
