The News Corp-backed Polish regional station TV Puls has applied to the country’s National Broadcasting Council (KRRiT) for two thematic channel licences.
According to Wirtualne Media, the channels in question – Puls News and TV Puls Rozrywka – would be initially distributed via satellite but in due course also DTT.
Although News Corp plans to sell its stake in TV Puls, the station is gaining viewers and saw its ad revenues in September rise year-on-year by an astonishing 477.2%.
Its plans to launch two thematic channels were first announced this April.
