TV4 Sweden continues to build on its pay-TV portfolio after last year’s analogue switch off. The suite of basic and pay-TV channels including, TV4, TV4 Plus, TV400, TV4 Fakta, TV4 Film and new launch TV4 Sport, achieved second trimester revenues of SEK157 million (€16.16m) compared to SEK132m in the period between January 1 and August 31, 2007.
The channels received a new six-year broadcasting licence in March, while TV4 secured capacity within the new fifth multiplex, though its distribution is currently limited compared to the other DTT multiplexes.
TV4’s purchase of C More Entertainment, which operates the Canal+ premium channels in the Nordic region, is currently before competition regulators in Sweden and Finland.
Group profits increased by 90% to SEK388 million.
