Swedish DTT platform Boxer is reporting a 5,000 fall in subscriber numbers in the third quarter, the second consecutive reduction, but still 3,000 ahead of where the pay-TV operation was 12 months ago.
“Our sales are still strong, but competition is becoming tougher and customers are switching operators to take advantage of short-term offers. We are focusing more on offering our customers more services. Boxer’s Twin Card is for example becoming more and more popular, and at the same time we are going to launch in Denmark and Ireland next year,” said Boxer’s managing director Per Norman.
Sweden completed analogue switch-off in October 2007, meaning that consumers have already made their initial purchase decision, and a slew of 12-month contracts are about to expire.
