Rescue Me to premiere on iTunes

Sony Pictures Television International (SPTI) is to premiere season 4 of Rescue Me on iTunes in the UK. The show has previously been screened on Sky One and is the first time that SPTI has premiered a new season outside of the linear TV environment.

Rescue Me follows New York Firefighter Tommy Gavin and his colleagues as they struggle to come to terms with the aftermath of 9/11. Ahead of season 4, which goes live on November 7, it will be possible to download episodes from the first four seasons of the drama.

“We are pleased to add another great Sony show to the iTunes platform, marking a new milestone in our digital distribution business. Our goal is to offer viewers access to high quality content across a variety of different platforms,” said Danny Goldman, senior vice president, sales SPTI.

SPTI has regularly released content on iTunes including Damages, Breaking Bad and The Tudors.
