Viasat Broadcasting has bolstered its HD line-up with the launch of MTVNHD on its pay-TV platform in the Nordic region. The agreement with MTV Networks kicks in at 10.00 CET this morning in Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland.
“We feel that MTVNHD is an excellent addition to our HDTV offering. This strong channel brings the best in music and children’s programmes – complementing our present offering of sports, movies, nature and entertainment programmes,” said Hans Skarplöth, CEO, Viasat Sweden.
Viasat launched its HD offering in January 2008. The offer includes TV1000 HD in the Nordic region and Viasat Sport HD in Sweden, Norway and Finland. Viasat’s Danish subscribers have access to TV2 Sport HD, a joint venture between MTG and TV2 Denmark. National Geographic HD is available across the region.
