Apple is to add movies for sale and rent to the German iTunes store, according to a report in the WirtschaftsWoche magazine. Titles including HD versions of a selected number of films will become available before the end of the year.
There already are a limited number of TV series available, but with the addition of feature length movies, iTunes will become a competitor to the established German online movie services of Videoload (from Deutsche Telekom) and Maxdome (from ProSiebenSat.1).
