Albania will shortly have a new DTH platform.
Several local reports indicate that Albanian Satellite Communications (ASC) has begun testing a nine-channel service named Tring on Eutelsat at 16 degrees East.
Tring is employing MPEG-2 and all the channels are FTA. ASC is a privately owned satellite services company based in the Albanian capital, Tirana.
Albania already has a DTH platform known as DigitAlb. It is operated by Top Media and has a sister DTT service of the same name.
