The Czech public broadcaster CT is stepping up its transition from analogue to digital broadcasting.
Speaking to the local press, its spokesman Stepan Janda said that it will leave the current Multiplex A at the end of October and start using a further 12 digital transmitters by the end of the year.
CT is trying to make up for lost time, with a plan for the transition to digital broadcasting in the Czech Republic having only been approved by the country’s parliament this May.
The eventual set-up following ASO – set for November 2011, but with two regions allowed to continue broadcasting in analogue until June 2012 – will see CT operating one of four multiplexes.
