Tough first half for PrimaCom
PrimaCom added 4,244 new digital subscribers in the 12 months to June 2008 as the German regional cablenet increased its digital TV revenues by €0.2 million to €0.5 million. As of June 30, 2008 there were 16,005 digital subscribers on the network.
Canal+ CEO Méheut hits out against Orange
Canal+ president general and CEO Bertrand Méheut has hit out against Orange, saying “there is no reason why a consumer should be obliged to take a triple play offer (TV, broadband, telephony) to have access to the Orange TV channels.”
Tecteo close to acquiring BeTV
Belgian cable operator Tecteo (the former Liege-based ALE-Teledis) is close to acquiring full control of the pay-TV operations owned by BeTV, the former Canal+ Belgique, according to a filing with the national monopoly commission.
Film1 adds new action channel
Chellomedia is introducing a new Film1 premium channel on the Dutch market called Film1 Action. At the same time, the monthly subscription fee on UPC networks will be increased by €2 to €14.95. This week, the new Film1 VOD service will also be operational.
