Poland’s four mobile operators have stolen a march on other prospective bidders hoping to secure a mobile TV licence, a tender for which is due to take place this October.
According to a local report, the four companies – P4, Centertel, Polkomtel and PTC – are preparing a joint bid in which they will promise to make a future mobile TV service unconditionally available to broadcasters.
Anna Strezynska, the president of the Office of Electronic Communications (UKE), has described such an approach as an “interesting idea”.
