France Telecom reports strong IPTV growth

With the publication of its figures for the first six months of 2008, France Telecom has reported strong growth of its IPTV customer base. The company had a total of 1.54 million subscribers in Europe at June 30, 2008, or 76% more than 872,000 one year earlier.
In France, the company had 1.389 million IPTV subscribers, a 65.9% increase from a year ago, with VOD more than doubling to 2.182 million paid downloads in the first half of 2008, compared with 907,000 in the first half of 2007.
