Eighty per cent of subscribers to the former TPS platform have now been transferred to the CanalSat package, according to parent company Vivendi. In a statement, the company said the figures underlined its objective of having a single platform by the end of the year.
Canal+ Group’s total subscription portfolio now stands at 10.445 million, an increase of almost 140,000 compared to June 2007. As of June 30, 2008 the Canal+ premium channel had 5.257 million subscribers and the combined CanalSat/TPS pay packages stood at 5.188 million. Subscriber numbers included an adjustment of minus 65,000 subscriptions result from what Vivendi described as “a portfolio change of scope to include viable contracts only”. French revenues grew €23 million as ARPU and advertising increased.
CanalOverseas in the French overseas territories and Africa also turned in a good performance as did operations in Poland, the German company Kinowelt and StudioCanal.
Group revenues reached €2,254 million, an increase of 4.6% on the first half of 2007.
