The Weinstein Company has announced an exclusive deal with Sky Italia to distribute its movie content on the DTH platform.
Included in the package are movies from the independent producer’s Dimension Films company that have been both critically acclaimed and commercially successful, bringing titles such as Bobby, The Nanny Diaries and SiCKO.
“Sky Italia is one of the largest and most-heavily subscribed pay services and we could not ask for a better partner to share our films with global audiences,” stated co-chairman Harvey Weinstein. “This strategic deal perfectly complements our current partnerships in other key markets across the world and we look forward to continuing to grow our international imprint.”
In the past three years Weinstein, best known for Cinema Paradiso, has signed a series of partnerships with both pay and free TV channels including Canal+, ARD, RAI and StarTV.
