The Polish public broadcaster TVP has signalled its intention to play a leading role in the country’s forthcoming DTT operation.
Speaking to Wirtualnemedia, board member Marcin Bochenek said it would take part in a tender for what will be the second multiplex and “easily capable” of supplying all the content for the multiplex.
This would include its forthcoming HD channel TVP HD, due to launch ahead of the Beijing Olympics, along with existing thematic services such as TVP Kultura and TVP Historia and new channels.
TVP’s three main channels TVP1, TVP2 and TVP Info already have guaranteed slots on what will be the first DTT multiplex.
