The Czech digital channel Barrandov TV will make its debut on January 11, 2009, according to by Janka Vozárová, the general director of Barrandov Studios.
Vozárová, who has been in the post since last month, was speaking to the local press at the Karlovy Vary festival. Barrandov TV is one of six digital channels awarded ‘compensatory’ licences earlier this year following a protracted dispute over licences they had initially received in 2006.
It was expected to launch this summer, following the end of the Euro 2008 championships.
