Endemol launches Dutch crime channel

Endemol has launched a Dutch cable channel, MisdaadNet, on the Ziggo cable network reaching over 900,000 digital households. The new channel offer Dutch crime series from Endemol, as well as German and British productions 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Dutch productions include Grijpstra en de Gier, Bureau Kruislaan and Baantjer, German series Siska, Der Alte and British classics including Murphy’s Law, Miss Marple and Sherlock Holmes.

Last month, Endemol and MTV Networks announced their first joint venture, a Dutch Comedy channel, to be launched later this year. (See Broadband TV News passim).

Ziggo also added Jim-Jam to its digital line-up; as a result, the largest Dutch cable operator has dropped two BBC channels, CBBC and CBeebies.
