The French MSO Numericable has said it will expand the VOD offer within its Video Club with HD content from CinéPlay, TF1 Vision and I-Concerts. Programmes are available in 1920 x 1080 and are streamed at 11.25 Mbps.
Initially, about 10 concerts will be available in HD including Ben Harper, Mika, Seal, James Blunt, Amy Winehouse, Gorillaz and others. Movies include National Treasure, Air Force One, Die Hard with a Vengeance in Cine Play and various programmes and movies from TF1.
Prices for HD titles are €4.99 for brand new titles, €3.99 for library titles and €2.99 for individual programmes from TF1 such as Ushuaia Nature.
Viewers need to have Numericable’s Cablebox HD in order to view the VOD programmes in HD. The operator also offers eight HD channels on its networks with streams of nearly 12 Mbps using DVB-C MPEG-4 H264.
