KDG places new Arris CMTS order

Kabel Deutschland is increasing the number of Arris C4 CMTS units in the field. Germany’s largest cable operator has placed a “substantial order” with the US technology company as it strengthens its high-speed data and voice over internet protocol (VoIP) telephony service.

KDG began the deployment of the C4 CMTS platform in 2007. Arris said the new units will be supplied during the current financial year, which runs through to March 31.

KDG CTO Lorenz Glatz said one of the reasons for the new order was the ease of migration to the DOCSIS 3 data standard.
