Verimatrix has announced that it has deployed its Video Content Authority System on the TeliaSonera IPTV network in the Nordic region, Estonia and Lithuania.
Since it launched in 2005, Telia has used Irdeto PIsys for IPTV and only in March the CA vendor announced an upgrade for the 20,000 subscribers on the TeliaStofa network in Denmark.
VCAS is a software-based solution that Verimatrix claims eliminates vulnerabilities found in smart card based architectures, though established smart card vendors may disagree.
Telia Digital has around 300,000 subscribers in Sweden following a series of heavy promotion.
