UPC Romanian digital launch nears

BUCHAREST BUSINESS BREAKFAST: UPC plans to introduce a digital cable service in Romania within the next couple of months, according to Raluca Milin, the director of marketing and sales, UPC Romania.

She added that the service would include such additional features as DVR. UPC Romania already has a number of digital cable subscribers in Bucharest that it inherited from the acquisition of the MSO Astral Telecom, and their number has significantly increased since the service they receive was re-launched late last year.

UPC currently has digital cable services in Poland, Hungary, the Czech Republic and Slovakia and will soon also be launching one in Slovenia.
