MultiChoice has become the first broadcaster in South Africa to introduce PC-based on demand.
Viewers can choose to download content direct to their computers or can stream their favourite programmes online. The DStv on Demand pc website was initially launched on a trial basis last August. It has proved popular in part due to the power cuts that have hit the country.
“Subscribers are in for a treat when they explore the array of engaging content on the DStv on Demand pc service, and experience first hand the phenomena of on demand services,” says Richard Fyffe general manager, MultiChoice, new media. “It is precisely this sort of choice, flexibility and immediacy, which complements the lifestyle of the new generation of South Africans.”
Content is available from selected channels on the DStv satellite platform. Local content such as Carte Blanche and Egoli sitting side by side with international content including Smallville, Saving Grace and Sarah Connor Chronicles. In addition to full length content there are also highlights of leading sports events.
