Ten channels for Dutch mobile TV service

KPN will launch its new DVB-H service MobileTV on Thursday, June 5 with a bouquet of ten channels. The monthly subscription fee will be €9.95 for unlimited access.

Czech HD DTT on the horizon

The Czech transmission company Ceske Radiokomunikace (CRa) has told the local press that its DTT multiplex will switch to DVB-T2 and MPEG-4 in 2013.

Spain rules out DTT subsidies

The Spanish government will not award help or subsidies to upgrade the existing terrestrial antenna systems nor for the acquisition of decoders by end users, according to the director for the Office for DTT of the Secretariat of State for Telecommunications and the Information Society (SETSI), José Antonio Quintela.

Italian parliament votes against decree to save Rete 4

The new Italian government suffered its first major defeat on May 27, after parliament blocked a decree that would have allowed the Rete 4 TV channel to keep its analogue frequencies instead of being forced to distribute its signals via satellite.

Dutch to measure streams, digital channels

The Dutch Institute for audience research SKO will start to measure internet video streams from the Dutch public broadcasters and RTL Nederland from July 1st. From September onwards, SKO will also measure viewing figures of 39 digital thematic channels.
