The provision of HD channels has become the new battleground for DTH and cable operations in Poland.
Local reports indicate that Vectra, the country’s second largest MSO, is now the leading cable provider of HD services, with no fewer than seven in its portfolio.
The services in question – TVN HD, Eurosport HD, Polsat Sport HD, Nat Geo HD, Luxe TV HD, Canal+ Sport HD and Canal+ Film HD – can be received in all cities where Vectra already offers digital TV, for fees ranging from PLN2-9 (€ 0.59-2.65) a month.
They also require a decoder that costs PLN49.90 to activate and then PLN9.91 a month to rent.
