The French media authority CSA has announced the 13 winners of the mobile TV service to start later this year. Canal+, M6 and TF1 each have won two channels, while Orange was awarded a licence for Orange Sport.
The Canal+ Group will have a mobile version of Canal+ and its news channel i-Télé, while TF1 will broadcast its main channel as well as Eurosport. The company failed to get a licence for its news channel LCI. M6 has meanwhile received licences for M6 and W9.
Other successful applicants are the news channel BFM TV, Direct 8 , EuropaCorp, NRJ 12, NT1 and Vigin 17. EuropCorp plans to have a European movies channel. French public channels France 2, France 3 and France 5 have already been issued with mobile TV licences.
