Orange is showing the concept of 3D television at the French Open tennis championships at Roland Garros in a demonstration organised by Orange Labs.
Guests of the mobile to IPTV provider will be able to follow the matches from the Lenglen Court in 3D, live, on May 26 and 27. The matches will then be available on VOD at the Roland Garros site and in the two Paris innovation agencies at Champs Elysées and Madeleine through to the end of the tournament on June 8.
Orange, which has sponsored the French Open since 2002, is taking its obligations seriously. The Orange TV service is providing customers with high definition coverage from the two show courts Chatrier and Lenglen. Nine channels, including seven from host broascaster France Télévisions will be available, alongside a mosaic channel and an interactive news channel.
The online service includes VOD and a premium service from the seven televised courts. Mobile customers will have five live TV feeds, VOD and live wap updates.
