The French commercial broadcaster TF1 will bring its online on-demand portal TF1 Vision to a regular TV screen using the technology of start-up Cezzer. By buying the Cezzer set-top, people can view the online video site on their TV set and navigate using a special remote control.
Consumers will have to buy the Cezzer set-top and use it to connect their internet access point to the TV set. Using a special remote control, they will be able to browse and choose from the 3,000 titles that are available in the TF1 Vision library. An internet connection speed of at least 512 Kbps is required.
Similar technologies exist in other countries, with one being used by Maxdome in Germany and another by PC Zapper in The Netherlands.
