UPC Austria has formally launched its high definition service with the release of the MediaBox HD. The Pace-Philips manufactured receiver is in the process of being rolled out in all of UPC’s major European markets and has already made its debut in the Netherlands, Hungary, Czech Republic and Slovakia.
The first HD channels to be made available will be National Geographic HD and the previously announced ORF 1 HD with its live coverage of Euro 2008.
The MediaBox HD with integrated digital video recorder is being marketed to the one million UPC customers in Vienna, Steiermark, Kärnten and Niederösterreich.
