TVP DTH platform edges closer

The Polish public broadcaster TVP could in theory launch a DTH platform as soon as this autumn.
Local reports indicate that it has now acquired the technical equipment that would allow for the distribution of up to 27 TV channels (of which two could be HD) and 16 radio stations, with the possibility of this being doubled in the future.
However, misunderstandings with TVP’s possible partner SES Astra remain, and as a result a launch is now unlikely before late 2009, at the earliest.
