Gemstar-TV Guide International has approved the purchase of the company by Macrovision.
Anticipated disquiet among shareholders failed to materialise as shareholders also approved $650 million of debt financing for the company that will be known as Macrovision Solutions Corporation.
The magazine interests are now likely to be sold, leaving the company with a series of EPG applications, and widely exercised patents in digital TV.
