Polish viewers can already receive 114 local language TV channels, according to data produced by TNS OBOP.
The total, which is nine more than last year, is likely to continue growing and could yet reach the level in such countries as the UK, were there are currently over 170 English language channels on offer.
Most Polish language channels are only available via cable and DTH, and although TVP1, TVP2, Polsat and TVN still account for the lion’s share of viewing, that claimed by non-terrestrial services continues to rise and currently comes to around 21% of the total.
