The US investment company CME is in the final stages of completely taking over the Ukrainian national broadcaster Studio 1+1.
In a wide ranging interview in the local press, Boris Fuchsmann, a co-owner in the station, said that he and fellow co-owner Oleksandr Rodnyansky would close the deal, valued at $200 million (€127.1 million), within the next two months.
He added that the deal would be undertaken in two stages, with he and Rodnyansky initial disposing of three quarters of their 40% stake and then the remaining 10% stake.
Fuchsmann also said that the entrepreneur Ihor Kolomoysky would either receive $140 million from CME or shares in Studio 1+1.
Besides operating a national station, Studio 1+1 also has an international channel and thematic services named Citi and Kino.
