RRsat Global Communications Network is to purchase the Emek Ha’ela Teleport from Israeli telecommunications company Bezeq. The $15 million deal, which is subject to regulatory approval, also includes Bezeq’s BezeqSat and ‘711’ business units.
BezeqSat provides uplink services to broadcasters including the BBC and CNN while ‘711’ serves as a primary distribution centre to satellite services provider Inmarsat.
Customer contracts that accounted for some US$7 million (€9.55m) in 2007 will be transferred to RRSat.
