The Savings Deposit Insurance Fund (TMSF) of Turkey has postponed the sale of media companies that belong to Erol Aksoy Group, according to the BBC Monitoring Service. Earlier the fund said it would sell rights and assets of Aksoy’s TV channels and would collect the final bids on March 21, 2008.
TMSF has now decided to collect final bids on May 23, 2008. Therefore, the auction for the TV and radio channels Cine 5 TV, Radyo 5, Viva TV and Viva Radyo will take place on May 26. Supersport TV, Show Radyo and Radyo Nostalji will be auctioned on May 27, followed by the auction for Radyo Tek, Radyo Cool and Gala TV on May 28.
The bargaining for all TV and radio stations will take place on 30 May. The auctions will be finalized after approval of the TMSF Board.
