Prospective foreign investors in Russia have been given a boost by the country’s political leaders.
Local reports indicate that a State Duma Committee has signalled its intention to exclude telcos and ISP from a list of industries that would be designated as “strategic”. Their classification as such would require foreign companies to obtain government approval if wishing to buy a 25-50% stake in the company.
It has also been indicated that TV and radio stations will also be omitted from the list.
