The Russian mobile operator VimpelCom is reported to have posted revenues of $918.4 million (€596 milion) for Q4 2007, or 33.1% more than in the corresponding period in 2006. Its revenues for the whole year amounted to over $7 billion, up by 47% on 2006, while profits rose by 80.6% to $368.1 million (Q4 2007) and 80.2% to $1.46 billion (full year, 2007). On the downside, the company’s results were hit by a low OIBDA margin, brought about by a one-off compensation payment to executives. Last month VimpelCom completed the acquisition of Golden Telecom, one of the leading alternative carriers, and the operator of an IPTV service, in Russia.
