RTE’s transmission subsidiary, RTENL, is to invest €120 million in a new transmission network ahead of the rollout of a permanent DTT service in the country. €95m has been set aside for the first phrase of the rollout that will extend the service to 90% of the population.
It is anticipated that RTENL will charge commercial operators €3.5 million for the transmission charges associated with the operation of each multiplex.
